Kraft Maus deliver mobile 8kVA platform for MoD field trials.

As part of the continuing development of Renewable Energy (RE) applications for the UK Ministry of Defence, Kraft Maus have delivered the first mobile, wind/solar/fossil hybrid power platform. The demonstrator platform is deployed on field trials to provide performance and user experience data. The results will determine the extent to which MoD takes forward plans for greater integration of RE into Operational military activities.

The 8kVA platform was a prime participant in recent tests at POWERFOB, an event put on by the British MoD, DSTL and the Canadian Department of National Defence to prove the concept of Renewable Energy as a practicable source of power to improve operational effectiveness. In fuel burn tests, a conventional, 2kW light generator burned 0.6l/kWh of diesel, whilst the Kraft Maus 8kVA burned 0.2l/kWh on its first run of 36 hours, with a total output of 53kWh. It provided 84kWh totally fuel free power for the five day performance test.

    Expansion of Kraft Maus’ markets

The off-grid markets internationally are gradually taking shape, with governments becoming increasingly aware of the important contribution Renewable Energy can make to economic growth.

With Asia, South America and Africa suffering from endemic power outages, Kraft Maus has announced the release of a new, integrated UPS system for household, office and commercial buildings. Installing this new UPS will provide effective load levelling, so battery charge is maintained to power important functions within the household or office. The system is, in effect, ‘a plug and play’ product which can be installed by a qualified electrician.

    ISO Container power

Kraft Maus announce the release of a range of secure, integrated systems to provide power for ISO containers. Containers are used by a wide range of customers across many important sectors, such as Mining, Telecommunications, Military, Construction, Healthcare and Humanitarian agencies. Uses include storage, accommodation, site employee welfare, communications and healthcare services delivery.

Kraft Maus delivers power for lighting, security, stock control, laboratory and medical equipment.

Thanks to Emily Padfield for her broad and accurate coverage of our 1kVA product launch and great day at the Mendip Gliding Club. We have enjoyed a great many interesting enquiries as a result of this and look forward to working with them again when we launch our networkable (up to 23kVA) 8kVA wind-solar trailer system.

    Mendip Gliding Club Publicity Event

A great day was had by all at our publicity event on the 2nd of March 2010. The show was graciously hosted by the Mendips Gilding Club at their stunning location on top of the beautiful Somerset range Mendip Gliding Club to whom our enduring gratitude is extended.

Among our guests were an editor from Farmers’ Weekly and a senior officer from Ministry of Defence.

The site, along with amazing views and ample wind and sun, afforded a perfect illustration of the viability of the unit being demonstrated. The site has no grid power, and the KM 1kVA unit was used to power lights, charge cameras and laptops and drill the holes for the wind turbine mounts.  Sadly, there was no air compressor available to be powered.

A massive thanks to all who came, and to the Mendips Gliding club In particular for having us all.
