Kraft Maus 8kVA

The 8kVA Hybrid Modular Power Platform integrates multiple energy sources, for example wind and solar PV with a standby fossil generator.

It can be mounted on a sled/pallet that can be transported, deployed and used in a static or mobile mode on any user’s standard trailer, logistics platform/pallet or ISO container, or transported to site, offloaded and ground-mounted for use.

However configured, Kraft Maus platforms are swiftly deployable, with power available immediately on arrival at site, and PV generation possible within 5 minutes.

Set up time for a wind turbine depends on ground conditions, but is typically less than 2 hours. Where required, the turbine is mounted on a winched lattice tower, and the PV on a simple side mounted swivel joint. The 8kVA is a self sufficient power station, with a backup generator onboard for reliability, whatever the weather. It is also a comprehensive mini-grid tool for use where a consistent high draw of power is essential with a minimum of fossil fuel use. Up to three 8kVA units can be phase linked and paralleled to give a mini grid capable of supplying up to 23kW.

The 8kVA platform, in a mobile configuration, was a prime participant in recent tests at POWERFOB, an event put on by the British MoD, DSTL and the Canadian Defence department, to prove the concept of Renewable energy as a practicable source of power to improve operational effectiveness. In fuel burn tests a conventional, 2kW light generator burned 0.6l/kWh of diesel, whilst the 8kVA burned 0.2l/kWh on its first run of 36 hours, with a total output of 53kWh. It provided 84kWh totally fuel free over the five day performance trial.

As a modular platform, the 8kVA can be configured to meet different power demands, operational requirements, and climatic and topographical conditions.
